Remote access for Windows 7

A separate Tenvo build for Windows 7 SP1 and 32-bit Windows. It runs as a Windows service, you sign in to your Tenvo account, and the device shows up in your cabinet. It is for older computers that still work and don't need replacing just for remote access.

TeamViewer ended support for Windows 7 in April 2025, and Chrome stopped updating on it in 2023. Tenvo for Windows 7 gets updates with the main release.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL

What the computer needs.

Windows 7 SP1 or any 32-bit Windows

Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, or any 32-bit Windows. You don't need .NET or Visual C++: everything is inside the program. On 64-bit Windows 10 and 11, take the regular build from the download page.

Two updates for self-update

For Tenvo to update itself on Windows 7, updates KB4490628 and KB4474419 (SHA-2 code-signing support) must be installed. Without them Tenvo installs and runs, but new versions have to be installed manually.

Windows service

The installer sets Tenvo up machine-wide as a Windows service, so the computer is reachable before sign-in, after a reboot and with the window closed. While nobody is signed in to Windows, use the permanent password.

If something fails

We test the Windows 7 build on 32-bit Windows and, together with our first customers, on real Windows 7. If something fails, contact support.

FAQ

Windows 7 questions.

Does TeamViewer work on Windows 7?

Not with current versions. TeamViewer ended support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 on 29 April 2025. The last compatible version is 15.64, and it gets no updates. Tenvo for Windows 7 gets updates with the main release.

Which Windows 7 do I need?

Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, 32-bit. The same build fits any 32-bit Windows, and there are no frameworks to install. For Tenvo to update itself, updates KB4490628 and KB4474419 must be installed.

Can I control Windows 7 computers from Windows 10 or 11?

Yes. All Tenvo builds use the same protocol. Install the regular build from the download page on Windows 10 and 11 and the Windows 7 build on older machines, then connect by ID and password. Controlling other computers from Windows 7 itself is not in this release; it comes in the next release.

Do I need a public IP or port forwarding?

No. Computers find each other by ID through our server and connect directly. If a direct connection isn't possible, for example when both are behind carrier NAT, the traffic goes through a relay. You don't need to configure the router.
