I see "too many incorrect password attempts" — what should I do?
This error appears when the wrong password has been entered several times for the same device ID. Tenvo temporarily blocks further attempts to prevent brute-force attacks.
Most common causes:
- The one-time password changed because the Tenvo app on the remote device was restarted. One-time passwords regenerate on every launch.
- You entered your own device ID instead of the remote device's ID.
Fix:
- Confirm you are using the correct device ID (visible in the Tenvo app on the remote device, under "Your Desktop").
- Get the current one-time password directly from the remote device, or ask the owner to read it out.
- If you have a permanent password set, use that instead — it never changes on restart.
- If the lockout persists, wait a few minutes and try again.
To avoid this in the future, set a permanent password on the remote device.
