Getting started
Download the installer for your platform from [tenvoai.com](https://tenvoai.com) and run it.

1. Install Tenvo on both devices (the one you'll control and the one you're connecting from).
Unattended access lets you connect to a device without anyone accepting the session on the other end — useful for servers, home PCs, or machines you manage.

Connecting & troubleshooting

This error means the remote device is not currently registered with Tenvo's relay.
Restarting the service resolves many connection errors (ID not found, error 10061, "service not running", relay failures).
The remote device actively refused the connection — usually because the Tenvo service is stopped or misconfigured.
1. Update Tenvo to the latest version from [tenvoai.com](https://tenvoai.com).
Cause: the Tenvo service startup type is set to Manual, so launching the app cannot start it automatically.
Try these steps in order.
If no device in your address book is reachable, the relay is likely blocked by your network.
The client cannot reach Tenvo's relay infrastructure.
Symptoms: errors like certificate verify failed (certificate signature failure) or RSA_padding_check_PKCS1_type_1 appear on connection.
The remote device has temporarily blocked incoming connections after repeated failed password entries.
Tenvo needs Screen Recording permission (and optionally Accessibility for full keyboard/mouse control) to function as a host.
On the remote device, open Tenvo → Settings → Security and confirm "Allow keyboard control" and "Allow mouse control" are on.
Text clipboard sync works automatically between sessions.
If the remote display looks wrong after a session, use the in-session Advanced controls and disconnect cleanly with the Disconnect button.
The free plan includes 2 hours per day of relayrouted connection time, resetting every 24 hours. LANdirect/P2P connections are always free and do not count agai

Tenvo uses email + password authentication. There is no SMS or phonenumber step.
Access & security
When someone connects, Tenvo shows an approval prompt on the host screen — there's no separate notification setting to enable.
A permanent password lets you (or an authorised person) connect to the device at any time without someone physically present to approve the session.
This error appears when the wrong password has been entered several times for the same device ID. Tenvo temporarily blocks further attempts to prevent brutefor
Tenvo has no on/off service toggle — block incoming connections by quitting the app, removing the permanent password, or stopping the Windows service.
1. Press Win, type Services, and press Enter.
If Tenvo fails to connect at startup and loops endlessly:
Tenvo's free tier includes 2 hours per day of relay connection time (connections routed through relay.tenvoai.com). The limit resets every day.
Passwords
By default Tenvo shows a onetime password under the device ID — it refreshes automatically and is meant for attended sessions. For unattended (headless) access
Set a permanent password on the remote device (see above). Once configured:
The rotating onetime password is intentional for attended sessions. If you need stable, repeatable access, set a permanent password instead — see "How do I set
This lockout is triggered by repeated failed connection attempts on the remote device. To resolve it:
When someone connects, Tenvo shows an approval prompt on the host screen — there's no separate notification setting to enable.
Tenvo does not yet support allowlisting specific device IDs. The available accesscontrol options are:
Tenvo account signin uses your email address and password (set when you registered at [cloud.tenvoai.com](https://cloud.tenvoai.com)).
Files & clipboard
Tenvo has a builtin File Transfer panel that works independently of the clipboard — use it whenever you need to move files reliably.
Yes. Clipboard file transfer (copy a file on one side, paste on the other with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) is supported in current Tenvo releases alongside the dedicated

If files or clipboard content are not passing through during a remote session, work through these steps in order.
No. Tenvo routes file transfer through the same managed relay (relay.tenvoai.com) used for remote control — no port forwarding or firewall changes are requi
Keyboard & mouse
If the mouse works but the keyboard is unresponsive when controlling a Windows PC from macOS, work through these steps.
The keyboard responds everywhere on the remote desktop except inside one particular program.
The mouse cursor freezes or becomes unresponsive for 10–20 seconds (or permanently until reconnect).
Perceived mouse delay is almost always caused by network latency or connection type, not a Tenvo bug.
Only primary buttons are forwarded. Tenvo currently transmits the left button, right button, and scroll wheel. Side buttons (buttons 4/5, Back/Forward) are not
Tenvo currently requires an X11/Xorg session on the Linux host side. Wayland support is in development.
Stale clipboard text can appear when typing from the Tenvo mobile app because the mobile keyboard re-sends clipboard content.
macOS
Tenvo needs several macOS system permissions to control or share your screen. Missing permissions are the most common cause of connection and input problems on

If Tenvo shows a spinning indicator and never displays a device ID, the app cannot reach the Tenvo relay.
If key presses or mouse clicks sent from your Mac are not reaching the remote Windows machine:
This warning appears when packet loss or latency between the two devices is high enough to degrade the session.
1. Confirm your plan is active — sign in at [cloud.tenvoai.com](https://cloud.tenvoai.com) and verify your Lite or Pro subscription shows as active.
Windows
If you see a permissions error when doubleclicking the installer, run it explicitly as administrator.
Tenvo runs a background service to stay reachable for incoming connections. If the window vanishes on launch and the tray icon is missing, follow these steps.
