Tenvo is stuck generating a device ID on macOS — how do I fix it?

If Tenvo shows a spinning indicator and never displays a device ID, the app cannot reach the Tenvo relay.

Check in this order:

  1. Permissions — confirm Screen Recording and Accessibility are enabled (see the permissions article above). Without them Tenvo may fail to initialise.
  2. Network / firewall — make sure Tenvo is not blocked by a firewall, VPN, or antivirus. The app connects outbound to relay.tenvoai.com (WebSocket, port 443). Add Tenvo to any allowlist.
  3. Direct-vs-relay toggle — in Settings → Connection → Relay, toggle "Direct P2P when possible" to the opposite state, then restart Tenvo.
  4. Reinstall — download the latest build from tenvoai.com, delete /Applications/Tenvo.app, and reinstall.

Minimum supported macOS: 10.14 (Mojave).
